  • Czech Republic - Prague, Lennon Wall One of the perks of making friends from all over the world is then getting to visit them. I finally travelled to central Europe last year, visiting Berlin, Dresden and Prague. I was blown away by the charming city and culture of Prague. My favourite way to explore a new place, especially a city, is to walk with no plan but going with my instincts to seek out not only tourist areas, but gems hiding off the beaten track. Not only do I love the graffiti art in the photo and message, but also the way I came across it, wandering the cities cobbles streets through narrow alleys and under archways, I began following the sound of a classical singer practicing with her window wide open. As I followed the street around the corner I was met by the large crowds of tourists and realised I was at the Lennon Wall. Yes, it's an Instagram hotspot, but unlike the graffiti wall selfie, if you want to dig a little deeper, you'll find there's more to Prague than meets the eye.

Cambodia - Neak Pean Temple Near Siem Reap, the Angkor area is home to over one thousand temples. Over two days we explored a handful of these on the UNESCO World Heritage Site with help of our tuk tuk guide. Neak Pean, built in the late 12th Century at the centre of a reservoir, probably representing Anavatapta, a mythical lake in the Himalayas whose waters are thought to cure all illness. Seeing the ancient temples up close, all of the intricate carvings along with the huge structures and jungle creeping through them, plus the friendliest people made Cambodia my favourite country I visited in Asia.

Bolivia -  Cactus Island Life  Isla Incahuasi, meaning “house of the Inca” in Quechua. Giant Cacti that grow on the island do so at the rate of one centimetre a year. Growing between two to ten metres high they all towered over me as I stepped onto an the ancient lake bed, where you can see fossilized coral rock beneath your feet. It was such an strange place, with an almost science fiction quality to it. With plenty of time to walk around the island, I was able to capture the photo of the Bolivian lady looking out over her little llama heard as they ventured across the rocks and between the cacti.

Galapagos -  Marine Iguanas  On a day visit to Santiago Island, where I hiked along the black beach shore spotting different species of birds, such as the Galapagos dove, Galapagos mockingbird, the blue footed booby and Galapagos hawks. And the marine iguanas as seen here basking in the sun, this species is unique to the Galapagos Islands. Wildlife spotting continued, where just along the coast were some Galapagos fur sea lions playing on the shore.

Guatemala - Semuc Champey A very remote natural attraction near Lanquín, Semuc Champey is a series of turquoise pools surrounded by dense jungle. The tour starts with an adventure through the limestone caves where you make your way in the darkness by candlelight. It involves wading and swimming through water, climbing rocks and waterfalls and jumping into natural pools. It's then a 45 minute walk to the viewpoint above the pools where you're rewarded with this stunning view.
